CNY FOP CLAMBAKE - SEP 14 (Sun)

clams

WHERE/WHEN: Spinning Wheel 7384 Thompson Rd .. 1300-1700hr

The PBA Board of Directors has again agreed to pay for SPD retirees to attend. If you are interested in attending the CNY FOP Clambake, please email PBA Recording Secretary Kristie Froio (kjfroio10@gmail.com)-your name and address, and she will send a ticket to you in the mail. You will then present that ticket to the registration table at the FOP clambake upon arrival.

NOTE FROM PBA President Moran:

I ask that you please keep in mind why we enacted this system. When I first became president in 2021, I learned that individuals would sign in at the FOP registration table on a yellow notepad for recording keeping, and then the PBA would reimburse the FOP based on the number of signatures obtained. In 2021, upon reviewing the notepad after the clambake, a significant number of names were illegible, and some also signed on the notepad, but they weren't SPD retirees/active PBA members. Hence the ticket system the PBA created, as we only pay for SPD retirees and active PBA members. After the clambake, the FOP submits the tickets to the PBA, and the PBA reimburses the FOP based on the number of tickets submitted to the registration table.

Please keep in mind that the ticket only covers the SPD retiree/PBA active member. SPD retirees and active PBA members are responsible for payment for all additional guests who attend the FOP Clambake. The FOP advised me that, last year, a couple of individuals reported to the registration table, claimed to be SPD retiree(s) without a ticket, and then proceeded inside for the clambake with family members/friends, without paying. This, obviously, creates a financial challenge for the FOP.

Officer Kate Hewitt is retiring from SPD after serving for 40 years! For Kate's "retirement party", she is hopeful that active members and retirees will attend the CNY FOP Clambake on SEP 14th,  from 1-5 pm, at the Spinning Wheel to wish her well

Lastly, if there are retirees who aren't on this list, or who don't utilize email, have them call the PBA Office (315-748-0036) and provide their name and address, and I will mail a ticket to them.

Thank you all, and I hope you are enjoying the summer!
